18,000 Naked Bodies Found in Mexico City Square

Over 18,000 people filled the Zocalo plaza in Mexico City this Sunday to pose for U.S. photographer Spencer Tunick’s nude shoot. Tunick has previously photographed several other large-scale nude shoots, including 7,000 models in 2003.

It’s impressive by anyone’s standards to get 18,000 people to take off all their clothes and then get cozy with their naked neighbors in Mexico City. Some people were standing, others were on the ground in fetal positions, and apparenetly not concerned about the sticky goop on the street that was giving them a rash.
Tight squeeze, ass.

What I want to know is how many unreported molestations, gropes, and rub-a-dubs occurred during the shoot. 18,000 people is a lot, and if you take a look at the picture anything could be going on in there. Sure, it’s art, but all it takes is 1,000 bad seeds to ruin a whole batch of melons…um, yeah.

  1. i read somewhere, i think it was cnn maybe, that a very high percentage of attendees were males, so if there was a lot of grab-assing i guess it was of the red hot man on man kind.

  2. Yeah, that’s probably true, I mean if you saw a flyer telling you about a massive naked photo shoot, I’m guessing it would be more of a sausage fest–guys hoping girls would come, but all standing around awkwardly:)
    GUY 1: “So, art huh?
    GUY 2: “Yeah, art.”

  3. GUY 3: “You guys are totally gay.”
GUY 4: “Uh…do you think you could shift your leg a little, please?”

I’d actually really like to see the pictures, though; the article I read made them sound really interesting. There was one, taken from a crane overhead, of a man in a wheelchair, with 18,000 people laying humbled around him. Maybe it would look stupid, but I know for sure I’ve never seen anything like that before. When I was in a wheelchair, I never humbled more than 9, 10 thousand naked people, tops.
