Please don’t give that guy any more video games to make movies from. So far he hasn’t trampled on any games that I personally enjoyed, but still.
I’m super-excited as a “Max Payne: the Videogame” fan, especially since it looks like it bucks the usual stigma (a stigma that is probably Boll’s fault) of videogame-based films being god-awful. I had my doubts about Wahlberg playing the hell-bent murder machine that is Payne, but he manages it well. Everything that was ludicrous and awesome about the videogame, specifically the diving while operating firearms in slow-mo, is there and it looks great. The angel of death bit is new but I liked that too.
I do hope he enters a room by diving through the door and using two uzis to mow down a room full of people before hitting the ground. That game was delicious.
Well Matt, I can respect your liking of the game, but NEVER speak ill of Mr. Boll again. I know a few people will defend me here when I say he is a treasure, all trampling aside.
